Elon Musk's fresh attack on Twitter over number of spam accounts- NB Inspire




New Delhi World's richest person and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who terminated the $44 billion deal to acquire Twitter in July, doesn't seem to rest until he proves that the microblogging site has over 5 percent bot or spam accounts.


Billionaire Musk walked away from a $44 billion offer for Twitter saying the company misled him and regulators about the true number of spam or bot accounts on the microblogging platform. However, the company has maintained that not more than  5 per accounts its platform are fake or bot.


On Thursday, the Tesla boss launched a fresh salvo at the social media platform citing a news article `which quoted an expert as saying that eight in ten Twitter accounts are fake. If further added that both Musk and Twitter have underestimated the company's bot problem.


Retweeting the report, Musk said, Sure sounds higher than 5%. On a $/bot basis, this deal is awesome, he added.


Engaged in a legal battle with Twitter over the termination of the deal to Twitter Inc after he subpoenaed a whistleblower seeking documents on how the social media company measures spam accounts.


According to a court filling on Monday, Musk has sought information form whistleblower and former head of Twitter's security mostly about the ways the microblogging site measures spam account.
