The icon who turn 34 today, is widely known among his fans as Chase Master, Run Machine, and King Kohli. Kohli has achieved numerous milestones and accolades, thanks to his dedication, discipline and most importantly. His will power Kohli who began his career by playing for the Delhi Under-15 team in 2002 in the Polly Umrigar Trophy, catapulted to global fame in 2008 after India won the Under-19 Cricket World Cup in Malaysia under his captaincy. Over the years, Kohli rose through the ranks and accomplished several feats that were not only his Victories but also added to India's glory in World cricket. On his birthday, here's a look at some of Kohli's most career-defining moments.


2011 World Cup Final Innings

Kohli has successfully orchestrated several wins for India owing to his stellar run-chasing abilities. The King has on numerous occasion said that hi innings of 35 in the  2011 WC final is among the most valuable scores he ever made. India playing against Sri Lanka were in troubled water after Virendra Sehwag scored a duck and Tendulkar managed a measly 18 runs. India had 276 runs to chase even as its top batsmen were decimated by fast bowler Lasith Malinga. While Tendulkar was the highest scorer in the tournament with 482 runs, Kohli too, had great start after he secured a century against Bangladesh. However in the crucial final game, Kohli came at number 4 and was part of an 83-run partnership with Goutam Gambhir which led India to the historic win. "35 in 2011 World Cup final was tghe most valuable 35 I've scored in my cricketing career. I was happy to bring the team back on track and contribute in whatever way i could. The crowd atmosphere was surreal, it's very fresh in our memories., Kohli was quoted as saying in an old interview.


183 Against Pakistan in Asia Cup

Kohli created history on March 18, 2022,scorer after he scored 183, making it the highest individual for a batsmen innings for a batsmen in the Asia Cup. It was also the highest individual innings for batsmen against Pakistan in an ODI. India was  chasing a gigantic 330 to win against its arch rival in the tournament. Kohli's historic 183 of 148 balls propelled India to Victory. He emerged at the highest arch-rival score in the international tournament that was won by Pakistan. Incidentally, it was Tendulkar's last ODI match.


82 Against Australia in T20 World 2016

Until recently, Kohli's memories knock of runs off 5 balls against Australia at Mohali in the 2016 T20 World Cup was his biggest-ever knock. The astounding achievement  went on to be crowned as the Greatest Momen in the history of T20 World the history. India was chasing a target of 161 which was Australia in the high-octane knock-out cup group game, the winner of which was to procced to the semi-finals. Kohli entered a 45-run off 38 balls partnership with Yuvraj Singh who was scalped in the 14th over. However, later Kohli entered a run partnership with Dhoni which saw a hard chase between wickets, King Kohli's innings were marked by sixes and 9 four. He went on to be named the man of the Tournament for securing 273 runs in matches.

6TH Double Century in Test Cricket in 2017

The run machine achieved a major milestone in 2017 aftagainster he become the first caption to secure sic double centuries in test cricket. With this, Kohli surpassed the record of legend Brian Lara who held five double centuries in Test. Kohli  was playing his 63rd Test match when he scored the record sixth double ton in the final test against Sri Lanka at the Feroz Kolta stadium in December 2017. The sixth double-century was secured off 238 balls that also included 20 boundaries. The record also made Kohli the second Indian after Vinod Kambli to score consecutive centuries. In 1993, Kambli had scored 224 against England and 227 against Zimbabwe. Around the same time, on December 2, 2017, Kohli also become the first captaion to hit three successive centuries in a three-Tet series.
