Microsoft recently a new set of features for Windows 11 in its Moment 1 update. This move was a transition of the company releasing major updates after longer durations and switching to releasing smaller features over shorter periods. This system, known as Moment updated the Windows 11 version 22H2 and added multiple features such as tabbed the Explorer, taskbar overflow support for iCloud photos and more. And now, Microsoft has already given the fan a glimpse of what Moment 2 might bring. Read on to find out.
On October 26, Window Insider Programme YouTube channel hosted an 8th anniversary webcast where the presenters gave a glimpse at the upcoming Moment 2 update and what it might bring. During the webcast, a demo Window 11 build 23003.in_moment directdash_ni_moment_directdash_dev 1.221018-160 and it highlighted a deeper touch optimized taskbar for tables. This features is note presentin the Moment 1 update. While fans had repeatedly asked for a taskbar redesign and option to move it, instead of it being stuck to the bottom, for now, touch optimization is all they get.
Microsoft Windows 11 Moment 2 update might be released soon
The possibility of Moment 2 update also discards the idea that a major build for Windows 11 will be released anytime soon. So, instead of get one or more Moment updates in the form of a cumulative update from either Build 22621 or 22622 to 22623. This means that Moment updates will not give a new OS version but just update the current 22H2 version. A separate release will come sometime in the first half of the next which will update Windows 11 to version 23H1.
It should also noted that new devices shipping with Windows 11 22H2 will note come with the Moment updates, and there is no certainty when thee features will arrive for the OS.\
